  5. Ribosomal protein L33 is one of the proteins from the large ribosomal subunit.
  6. In Escherichia  coli, L33 has been  shown to be on the surface of 50S subunit.
  7. It belongs  to  a family of ribosomal proteins which, on the basis of sequence
  8. similarities [1,2,3], groups:
  9.  
  10.  - Eubacterial L33.
  11.  - Plant chloroplast L33.
  12.  - Cyanelle L33.
  13.  
  14. L33 is  a  small  protein  of  49  to  66  amino-acid residues. As a signature
  15. pattern, we selected a conserved region located in the central section of L33.
